Fancy Fingertips – Midnight Blue – Week 1

If you read my last post then You’ll know I plan to do a weekly or should I say weekendly post about my nails & the patterns & designs I do on them. Nail varnish is not allowed where I work so I paint them every friday & then remove it every Sunday (or Monday because I usually forget) I’ts sometimes annoying especially when I really like how they look but it does give me plenty of practice trying new patterns and designs out. Here are few I’ve had over Christmas & New year….

Photobucket
This the pattern I had on for Christmas it’s sort of a Candy Cane theme (I Love Candy Canes)

Photobucket

These were my New Year Eve nails I’d just received my dotting tools & wanted to try them out

Photobucket

These are just what I did last weekend I’m still not sure whether I like them or not, & I definatly need to invest in a new topcoat as the one I have keeps leaving bubbles

Photobucket

Here are my natural non-painted nail aren’t they UGLY! I hate them at the minute. This will be sort of a weekly update for me to see how my nails are coming along because as much as I love nails & nail varnish I’m shocking at looking after mine & they aren’t in the best shape as I’m a nail biter :’( I keep trying to stop but it’s sooooo hard! & I’ve recently had acrylic nails on which I loved! But they weakend my nails alot so it’s going to be awhile before I can grow them to any sort of length because the ends are so weak & brittle.

I had planned in this post to try out my new stamps but I did’nt get round to painting them yesterday & today was one of my Christmas presents from my lovely boyfriend it was a spa day so I’ve spent the entire day relaxing and being pampered & one of my treatments was a manicure & as soon as I saw this colour I knew I HAD HAD HAD to have it is’nt it gorgeous….

Photobucket

The picture doesn’t really do it justice so I’ll take another in natural light tommorow but it’s amazing so deep & shiny this has 2 coats & a top coat on but it didn’t really need that it was opaque & shiny after just 1 coat. The colour is Midnight Moonlight by Jessica. I’d never heard of Jessica before but the consistency of this one (not to mention the price) has me thinking it must be a good one. It cost me £9.75 the same as online which makes it my most expensive Nail polish to date but it is definatly worth it.

So what do you think? Have you any Jessica polish’s? How ugly are my natural nails! Have you painted yours this weekend?
I also promise next weekends nails will be done by yours truly only they won’t look as neat lol

My Nail Obsession

I have an addiction I think it’s terminal & my obssesion is Nail Varnish. I love painting my nails trying different colours & patterns & my collection has been steadily growing over the last year right now I’m up to around 80 nail vanish including nail art striping brushes & pens.

Photobucket
This was my collection back in August last year I had 45 polishs then

Photobucket
This is my collection now I have 106 polishes although a few of them are not shown here as they are multiples. I don’t actually have favourite nail varnish brand & I don’t spend a fortunes on expensive product as I find the majority of the cheaper brands work just as good as the more expensive brands but I woul love at least one of each of the following brands to add to my collection Essie, Nfu-oh, OPI & China Glaze.

I currently store them in these storage draws, I bought them from Morrisons a while ago although I think they still do them they were about £5.

Photobucket

I prefer to store my nail varnish’s by colour I find it easier e.g. Draw 1 – Blacks, whites, greys & silvers,  Draw 2 – Reds & Pinks, Draw 3 – Blues & Purples Draw 4 – Yellows, Oranges, Browns, Golds & Greens.

Photobucket

I really want a nail varnish rack but they are pretty expensive around £20/£30 for a rack that stores 30 & I’d need at least three so I plan on making one eventually (Or trying at least). Here the gist of what I want it to look like….

Lately I’ve been trying out different patterns & designs I bought some dotting tools & I’ve recently heard of Konad Nail Stamps (I know I’m way behind lol) The reason I love the idea of these plates so much is the fact I can’t wear nail varnish at work so I only get to wear it friday till sunday & this way I can get a professional(ish) looking manicure at home & I don’t have waste money going to salons. So I just had to get some and try them out so here is what I’ve been trying out lately….

Photobucket

Photobucket

I bought these from Ebay, Amazon & Konad Wholesale but you can just type your search into google

I loved the Zebra design which is why I chose plate M57. I definatly want to invest in more Konad plates & polishes but they are pretty expensive at £5+ for plate & £3.20+ for the special stamping polishes although I definatly recommend buying this special polish as they show up much better than regular polish’s. I also bought the Bundlemonster stamping plates.

Photobucket

These were £16.99 for 25 an absolute bargain from Amazon & so far the ones I’ve tried work just as well as the Konad plate for a fraction of the price.

So what do you think? Have You tried Konad? Do you prefer another brand? How do store your nail polishes? Also tune in tommorow for my new weekly post Fancy Fingers (obviously about my nails lol)

Wondering What To Match those Peepers with? How about Your nails?

Personally I LOVE painting my nails but unfortunatly for me, nail varnish is not allowed at work, no idea why seems slightly ridiculous to me but hey ho im not the boss.

So every friday night the nail varnish is out although this in itself throws up a dilemma as to what colour? Blue? Pink? Purple Green? Orange? Yellow?
